Editorial standards and source-checking policy
Every guide follows a strict editorial standard: answer the reader’s question in the first paragraph, explain what changes the answer, provide a practical next check, and link the official Victorian source.
How guides are drafted, checked and maintained
Our publication and maintenance process focuses on useful wording and traceable, current evidence:
- 1. Primary source verification: Every statutory rule, timeframe, or regulator responsibility is matched to an official Victorian or Commonwealth source with a recorded check date.
- 2. Plain-English editorial review: Guides are edited so the H1 and short answer fit above the fold on a phone screen, each H2 section stands on its own, and cross-links use full guide titles.
- 3. Publication and maintenance: Owner approval and current registered references determine release. Specialist sign-off is not a publication requirement. We name a specialist reviewer only when that review has actually happened. Guides provide general information; readers should check the current official source for their circumstances.
